The Lion's Gate is the 8:8, a day the old calendars marked as a door swinging open. We meet it the only way we know, barefoot and wide awake, a whole tribe moving as one by the sea. We open with a warm cacao ceremony, then the dance rises through live drums into fire as the sun goes down, and sound healing carries you back down.

Extaticaa runs sober, phone-free ecstatic dance and cacao ceremony nights by the ocean in Da Nang and Hoi An, Vietnam. Each night opens with a warm cacao ceremony and a live saxophone solo at sunset, the Eros Call, then rises through live drums into fire and settles into a quiet close. You come as a stranger and leave part of a room that moved as one.

What is ecstatic dance?

Ecstatic dance is free movement with no steps to learn and no one watching. The music carries you from slow and grounding to wild, then back to stillness. There is no right way to move. Your body decides.

What happens at an Extaticaa night?

We open with a warm cacao ceremony and a circle. As the sun goes down, a live saxophone solo plays in the center of the floor, the Eros Call. Then live drums lift the room, the dance rises into fire, and the night settles into a quiet close on the floor. A night runs about five hours.

Where and when are the events?

By the ocean in Da Nang and nearby Hoi An, usually on a Saturday evening. We do not open a room every week, so each night is its own occasion. When a date is set, it goes on our events page with the venue and the start time. Join the list on this page and it comes to you by email first.

How do I get tickets, and how much are they?

Tickets go on sale on Ticketmelon once a date is set. Recent nights have been 333,333 VND online and 400,000 VND at the door, and the real price is set for each night. Some nights add extras, like a bus seat from Da Nang, and those are listed on the event itself. Join the list on this page and the ticket link comes to you by email first.

Is it really sober and phone-free?

Yes. No alcohol, and phones stay off the floor. The cacao and the music carry the room, not drinks. Our cameras rest when the journey goes deep, so what happens in the deep stays in the room.

Can I come alone, and do I need experience?

Yes, you can come alone, and you need no experience. Most people arrive alone and know no one. There are no steps and nobody is watching, so the room takes care of the rest.
